shape to form
from experimental outfits to drawing
away from the body
and then back to the body

Shape to form is an exercise of building up and breaking down. I started by building outfits of deformed clothing and pieces of fabric very intuitively to see what I could build. From here I dissected the outfits through drawing, first concentrating on each element with great detail, and slowly starting to draw out bigger shapes within the outfits. At the end I wanted to relate this back to the body, so I recreated the outfit that was initially made of clothing by laser cutting my favorite shapes into a collection of bags. The bags could then be used to build an outfit.
